Relaxation Station

In an effort to spread the health and benefits of mind-body based practices, we have recorded several auditory guides to assist students with these supports. Below you will find these recordings with a short description of each. Enjoy!

Autogenics -听础听relaxation technique听developed by the听German听辫蝉测肠丑颈补迟谤颈蝉迟听Johannes Heinrich Schultz听and first published in 1932. The technique involves the daily practice of sessions that last around 15 minutes, usually in the morning, at lunch time, and in the evening. During each session, the practitioner will repeat a set of visualisations that induce a state of听relaxation. Each session can be practiced in a position chosen amongst a set of recommended postures (for example, lying down, sitting meditation, sitting like a rag doll). The technique can be used to alleviate many听stress-颈苍诲耻肠别诲听 disorders.

Guided Visualization - A听technique used by many natural or听alternative medicine听practitioners as well as some physicians and听psychologists听for aiding clients and patients to use听mental imagery听to help with anything from healing their bodies听to solving problems or reducing stress.

Guided Imagery is not limited to physical problems or health issues and is commonly used for emotional healing or psychological issues. It can help resolve emotional wounds, low self-esteem issues, and even help support a person with career goals.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) - A听technique for learning to monitor and control the state of muscular tension. It was developed by American physician听Edmund Jacobson听in the early 1920s. 听It has been found to be beneficial for anxiety, stress management, and others.
