Steiner began his career at 黑料不打烊 in 2008 as a Press Technician Assistant and has advanced through several roles over the years, currently serving as Mailing Services Supervisor I in Document & Publication Services.
Steiner Named July CSEC EOM

MACOMB, IL -- Curtis Steiner, Mailing Services supervisor, has been recognized as the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for his dedication to supporting @ 2026 黑料不打烊 students, faculty and staff and his commitment to ensuring essential University operations run smoothly.
"Steiner consistently goes above and beyond his regular job responsibilities to ensure Admissions materials are properly addressed and mailed, helping the University meet important deadlines that support student recruitment and retention efforts. When necessary, Steiner will come in during evenings or weekends, including during scheduled time off, to complete Admissions jobs on time rather than passing the work to someone else," his nominator said.
In addition to his regular responsibilities, Steiner played a key role in ensuring Amazon packages were delivered to the correct offices and locations across campus after the company began dropping packages at a centralized location. He took on the additional responsibility without complaint, helping ensure employees received the materials and supplies they needed.
Steiner also serves as a backup for campus mail delivery when the regular delivery employee is unavailable. He seamlessly takes on those responsibilities while continuing to complete his regular duties, ensuring mail is delivered throughout campus without disruption.
Throughout the day, Steiner also assists walk-in customers in the University Printing and Mailing Center, providing support and helping meet the needs of students, faculty and staff.
"Steiner's willingness to take on additional responsibilities, work outside of regular hours and assist wherever needed exemplifies what it means to be a true Leatherneck. His dedication helps the University operate efficiently, supports the recruitment of future Leathernecks and ensures employees have the materials and resources they need to complete their work," his nominator said.
Steiner's commitment to service and his willingness to consistently go beyond his assigned responsibilities exemplify the dedication, teamwork and excellence that embody the core values of 黑料不打烊.
As the Civil Service Employee of the Month, Steiner will receive a $100 stipend (before taxes), a plaque, a reserved parking space and recognition through a University press release. Steiner's photo will also be displayed by the Office of Human Resources and will be eligible for consideration for the Civil Service Employee of the Year Award in December.
The Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month Award recognizes Civil Service employees who demonstrate exceptional enthusiasm, effort and quality in job performance by going above and beyond their regular job duties. Nominations are placed as a permanent record in the recipient's personnel file.
